Daire smashes lap record for the JSCC at Silverstone Round 8 of the Junior Saloon Car
Championship was held at the world famous Silverstone circuit in Nothampshire.
With no Friday testing Daire had only 15min practice on Saturday to shake the car down and ensure everything was good for qualifying.
Qualifying did not go as expected and I ended up in 4th, 2nd for the double header.
Race 1 Daire got the perfect start from 4th and lead into the first corner, from there he started to put in constant times and pull a lead out to win the first race with a 4 second lead.l
Race 2 Daire got another good start and led into the first corner, unfortunately there was a red flag and the grid started from original positions. Again a good start and led into the Wellington straight with cold tyres the car went a little wide and forced me into second. Pushed for the lead, getting the lap record by .04 of a second unfortunately without a clean over take he decided to settle for 2nd.
Daire said “overall a good weekend, i’d like to of got 2 race wins, unfortunately a small mistake cost me, I’m happy with a new lap record for JSCC around Silvestone now I looking forward to Donington. Daire, is still championship leader with 21 points and increasing his win tally to 13 and with 18 podiums with 2 rounds to go at Donington and Brands Hatch, it is still all all to play for.
